Hello I am new here, and unsure where to post hardware related inquiries. I want to build my own PC für Maya and have questions as what to buy. Which forum should I post in?

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the community!

This forum is fine for that Smiley Happy

While I can't recommend any specific hardware, I highly recommend looking at our system requirements when you're considering what pieces to buy!

You can find our certified hardware list here!

Hi Joahhagen,

Try to spend as little as possible on hardware for Maya. Maya is so buggy that investing any serious amount of hard earned money in hardware, hoping to make Maya perform better is a complete waste. The only thing you are going to perhaps gain is faster crashes. Even some attempts to multi-thread are a joke in Maya. Parallel evaluation for example, one of the somewhat newer advertised features of Maya have been so problematic (for several versions now), that you have no choice but to disable it in hope of trying to gain some stability and lose ALL advertised but mostly non existent performance boost for most "useful"(?) features. And if by some coincidence you end up with a system that Maya doesn't bug out on, it is not guaranteed to perform equally well with the next "update", "extension", "service pack" or "version" of Maya. Hardware gets you nothing when the software is so problematic.
