Anyone else getting this?

>Make a cube

>Make a set with the cube in

>Go into the attribute editor and add an attribute to the set

> The Attribute doesn't appear in 'Extra Attribtes'

This is only in Maya 2018

Hi @johnkeates2865

I just tried this and had no issues. What version of 2019 are you on, update 3?

If you aren't on Update 3, please try updating to it and let me know if this issue still occurs!

Hi @johnkeates2865

Right 2018 my bad Smiley Tongue

Could you possible post a video of this happening on your machine? I'd like to make sure we aren't missing any steps and what's happening differently on your machine that could be causing this.

If you need a video capturing program, Screencast is a great option that we use here at Autodesk

Also, as a quick fix you could try deleting your settings/preferences.

Please let me know if anything changes!

Hi Sean,

I tried deleting prefs but no joy.

The link you gave was for Team Viewer, right ?!?!

Screencast is just for sharing videos made with camtasia or Snagit, by the looks of it. Is there a free option for this? Camtasia is a bit pricey!

Hi!

I can confirm this bug for Maya 2017 and 2018 on windows (previous versions seem to work correct).

The Attribute will be shown in Channel Editor but not in Attribute Editor.

Please report this problem (bug?) to Autodesk.
Help -> Speak Back -> Report a Problem

I have already made a bug report. I just wanted to know if there was a solution. Just in case, can you make sure the report went through?

Hi!

This is only a display problem (wrong position), the Attribute/scene is saved correct.

You can find the Attribute in Attribute Editor at set -> Arnold -> Extra Attributes, or

use Channel Editor instead.

You can't solve this, you have to wait for a fix in a future version of Maya.

Ah yes, it is hidden in the Arnold section.
