Hi everyone,

I imported a model from Blender into Maya LT.

I have got the model (see attached file).

When I want to scale it down, it explodes ! (see attached file).

Any help ?

Thanks a lot !

Hi @Anonymous

This is because of the pivot points and/or because the mesh isn't combined.

If you want the model to scale uni formally without separating you can simply select all of the objects and go to Mesh->Combine then scale them down.

You could also select all of the models and go to Modify->Center Pivot then scale them.

Please let me know if this helps or if you need any more assistance!

Hi @sean.heasley

Thanks for reply.

I tried both solutions.

First one is OK.

Second one is not OK.

The problem is that I don't want to combine the models.

Regards.

Hi @Anonymous

Then you could simply combine them, scale down, then separate them under Mesh->Separate. Does that work for you?

It's OK with the scaling but when I separate, it alters the topology

Hi @Anonymous

When you get a chance, can you please zip and attach the scene file here or via dropbox/google drive or another file sharing program so I can take a look at it?

Hi @Anonymous

I'm not seeing any topology changes. The model looks the exact same before its combined and scaled as it does after everything has been combined and scaled down.

Can you double check to see if there are any other changes cause I'm not seeing any.

Hi @sean.heasley

I found the solution.

For each sub object I moved the pivot point to the center of the grid.

Then I scaled down with everything selected without any problem.
