2019 Random crashing on save.

I've had this infuriating issue for awhile now that I can't seem to find and answer for.  My maya seem to random crash on save, sometimes decimating my existing file (thus losing all work), or sometimes saving a random gibberish back up.  It happens with no rhyme or reason.  I've had it literally happen with an empty scene with nothing in it.  I have had it happen to a scene that I just opened and moved only the camera to.  Its like a russian roulette everytime I save my file.  I've already tried changing the file dialogue to "os native" which was the closest thing I could find.  Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi @cearka 

When your Maya crashes does it generate an error report for you to submit to Autodesk? If so, please fill it out and let me know what the CER report number is.

You can also check your GPU drivers and make sure they are up to date.

Aside from that we would need some more concrete steps on this and/or a way for you to reproduce it easily to troubleshoot it further.

also in this particular scene, all I did was create a cylinder, moved a few verts, create a cube, extruded a face a couple times, and then saved.

Thanks for posting the CER report number!

The module thats crashing seems to be linked to a handful of previously logged issues but have all been fixed and none are currently logged for 2019.

What GPU are you using and is the driver version the same as our certified hardware list?

Also, a quick test you can try is deleting your settings/preferences and then work as normal.

If none of that helps, can you post a video of the crash occurring?

I'm running a nvidia TitanV.  I've already done a preference reset but I'll trycapturing the crash.

this time it crashed before I even had a chance to hit save, which is different.  This is on a fresh install of maya with reset prefs.

afterwards I changed a few nominal prefs/plugins back to my workflow.  uninstalled arnold (I'm not using it).  since you mentioned it was happening on a module that had not reported issues in 2019, I went and removed some old traces of 2018 from my computer.  Thus far it has not crashed again after that, but it was always sporadic to begin with so I'm gonna keep an eye out on it for the next couple of days to see if it crashes on save again and attempt to capture it.

Thanks for posting that video.

That is a bit unusual and may be due to corrupted internal files with Maya. I'd recommend you nuke Maya and perform a clean uninstall/reinstall of Maya.

Also, do you have any other version of Maya installed? Do they crash as well?

I did the nuke and reinstall a couple times already.  I never had these issues on 2018 so something on my system is not jiving well with 2019.  I'll keep monitoring and seeing if I can find the specific trigger for this bug.
