Xgen - Interactive Grooming - Duplicating Descriptions

Hey Guys,

New here and trying to find some answers about interactive grooming in Maya.

So Is it even possible to duplicate a description?  For instance, you setup a right brow description and you'd like to duplicate it and mirror it.

Any info. is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Descriptions can be duplicated but Mirroring is not yet something that can be done automatically. You can export the description as a cache and then import that cache and scale it by -1 in X and freeze the transforms and make a new description from the curves using the the curve to spline modiifer.

The grooming brushes all have options to reflect across a given axis as well, so you could groom one eyebrow whilst having it mirrored automatically.

I see, so you can't really duplicate it withing the grooming stack.  I guess this works as a work around, let me give it a try.

Thanks!

You can duplicate descriptions yes, but this will create a new copy of the description. Mirroring across the axis is not yet implemented.

Cheers

I see, it's in the Descriptions -> Transfer menu

Seems to be a good way to create a stray layer.
