Hi Michael,

 

Can you take a look at this piece of geometry and see why a fatal error is occurring?

 

When I import my felt fur with a density of over 100 maya fatals - I get no messages in the script editor.

 

I have done the body, eyes and ears without any issues and the nose was the last thing to add fur to.

 

I exported just the nose and applied a default collection/description to it - seems to work - doesn't fatal.

 

I upped the density to 100 - slid the slider of density to the max...  still working

 

I add a clump modifier and generate Points.... still working

 

Hit Save.... FATAL!

 

Help?

 

Can you see if you can get at least 1 clump modifier on or more than 1 clump modifier  on it ?

PS - trying to clean the object up...  see if that helps - tried merging points - nope

Well the geo may not be bad, but every machine that I have tried here at the studio using Maya 2106 sp6 this piece of geo fails with.

 

Also, it seems to have transferred its badness to the XGen export description and collections that I have created for the character.  If import any of them into any of the other characters as a starting point, I get a FATAL error and maya implodes.

 

I have completed 2 other characters now and will wait for the re-model of the character and see what I get.

 

Redoing it.
