Fixing Interpenetration during MAYA nCloth simulation runup

Hi all,

I am working on my first MAYA nCloth simulation and need help with fixing interpenetration during the sim runup.

I am using MAYA 2017 update 3 along with clothing assets that I have created in Marvelous Designer 7. The runup and full performances

are linked below along with pictures of the interpenetration I am trying to fix. I have had limited success with using Exclude Collide Pair constraints but I think that I may be setting them up wrong or I am missing something. The screenshots of the interpenetration that I am trying to fix is also listed below.  Simply rotating joints and keying the rotations does not resolve the issue.  Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Hi,

the first image looks like the whole arm is intersecting the body.

Is it a cloth problem (I see interpenetration in the movies) or a problem of rotation interpolation?

In case its the cloth simulation: what are your settings for the nucleus solver?

Did you run the simulation with increased accuracy?

Hi,

This was a rotation problem, which I have since kinda figured out.  The issue was that I was working with the last half of a scene.  The file came from a tutorial so the person that originally worked on the file simply deleted all frames that came before the frame that they wanted to use resulting in strange rotations on the shoulders (e.g., 130 degrees when it really looks like 45)
