Fluid emitter blending with grid color.

Hi guys,

I have a scene where I have 3 emitters in a container. The goal is the have emitters emitting separate colors and having the mixing with each other like ink in water. The issue I am having is the fluids mix with grey, or what ever color I flood the fluid grid with when emitting.
Is there a way to achieve the desired effect I want with in Maya Fluids?

Hi!

Because the Color Attribute of fluids does not have a transparent/alpha value it's not possible.

You can however achieve a similar effect by fine-tuning all Attributes contributing to final Density and Color.

(You can also set a different Color as starting/background-color for Fluids like black).

Other solutions are also possible, but far more complex.

Thanks for your help mspeer! I will have to try that.
Out of curiosity what are the more complex methods and do they achieve results more to what I'm describing?
