Students always seem to find new ways of breaking Maya and rigs, but this one has me stumped on the "Twigs" character rig.
In the original rig file (first image), as expected, selecting the curve/controller for the finger in the viewport, shows to be selected in the outliner, therefore bringing up its keyable attributes.
In the broken file (second image), selecting the curve controller in the viewport, for some reason no longer selects itself in the outliner; therefore the keyable attributes won't show up. This is only the case for 2 of the 12 finger controllers. How was this broken??
(originally thought it was hidden attributes, hence opening up the Channel Controller)
