Model Rig critique

I was wondering if anyone would like to critique my model rig and maybe give me some advice. Also, is there a way to Bind pose to work on the NURBs too? Thank you.

♦ You should improve on the hip control technique, when we rotate the hip we either want to move the upper portion all along or just the hips. But here when we rotate the hips the upper part moves but the controls are not following.

♦ And you may want to clean up the rig by organizing the outliner. You can create a group for controllers and one for joints and one for the mesh.

♦ You shouldn't scale the controllers. It will give big problems when you're animating. Try to use the componand mode to scale the controllers.

♦ Although, its pretty good for a beginner. Happy Rigging 🙂

Hey there!

Honestly theres quite a few things that need to be fixed.

- The controls have numerical values and history
- You need to delete history and freeze transforms
- I would make different control shapes and not just circles
- Coloring convention isn't there
- Outline organization is a must
- Some stuff has the default naming still there

- Parent to child relationships are off

- Some controls don't have same pivots as the joints
- No need for some locators to be there

- Could do an IK/FK switch
- Joints shouldn't have "rotate" values in default position

These are just a few things wrong with the rig in itself. Honestly, I would highly recommend a course I made that has helped hundreds of people so far to become better riggers! (:

It covers 14+ hours with over 120+ lessons, from the very basics of rigging to much more advanced techniques!! It would genuinely help you out so much!!

Link is below and the course you can find on the website by scrolling down! (:
