Hi There,
First of all i'm very new to animation and Maya but I have some specific things that I would like to know for my own projects ..so here we go:
-I've been trying for a while now to export as an fbx a growth animation like in this video on youtube but i haven't had any luck.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YeaTcBJVfg
-Basically I want to animate and export as an fbx any kind of growth, does not have to be vines...
So far I came across an idea that suggested adding joints to the mesh and reducing the joint scale to 0 in the reverse motion of growth...maybe I need more detail on how this is possible because all i got with this was very deformed results and the geometry just scaled down following the ik handle not the actual object so it didn't give me a natural growth effect at all....
anything else like extrude along path..didn't work...
I don't really know how to achieve this with blendshapes either ( I had one attempt of manually flattening a tentacle by moving the vertices close to each other....but there must be something less painful than this out there.
I would appreciate if you could either quickly walk me through it or share a link for a video/course that covers this... I looked everywhere but maybe i'm not typing in the correct questions...
Hope someone can help...
MANY MANY THANKS!!!!
Hi, did you figure this out? I'm trying to achieve something similar, but in Maya 2020, it doesn't seem to export the extrude animation to the FBX file.
Thanks.
