Can you save the skeleton?

In many programs there is a way to save the bones of the rigged character but for some reason i can not find it in Maya nor is there youtube videos about it (you think they would). I'm i dumb, i looked everywhere, i search the documentation and zero answers on how to do basic thing. Now i wonder if it's even possible because no one asked, why no one ask until i have to do it?
It's not really a big deal, i just mess up on my skeleton because maya can't warn me about deleting constraint because of May's Etymology. I still have the skeleton and older file holding the working version, i don't mind redoing simple work i just hate wasting time redoing it for the 100 times because of lack of answers.
