Why can't I copy and paste keys using MMB (middle mouse button)?

Several tutorial videos show how to copy and paste keys with MMB. But I can't, probably because I'm not doing it right.
Please tell me how to copy-paste keys correctly in MMB.

Thanks,

Hi!

MMB click into the timeline and keep holding it while you scrub to the position you want your keyframe to be (nothing in the viewport should move) once the grey indicator of the current frame is on the frame you want to copy your keyframe to hit S to set a keyframe on all your selected controllers

I hope it helps!

Hi! @Kahylan .

Thank you for your reply.

I did exactly what you said, I can confirm that the key was copied by pressing S after dragging with MMB.
If multiple keys are selected, do you use this technique?
When I select a range of keys in TimeSlider and open the RMB (right mouse button) menu, I see Copy and Paste. Or can I do this with MMB?

This method only works with single frames I'm afraid, because it basically freezes current values in time until they are keyframed.

You can use the method you mentioned in the timeline to copy multiple keys. I personally prefere to use the graph editor to copy and paste multiple keyframes, because there I can see problems with the resulting curves immediately. Also the copy and paste command have more detailed options to fix issues in the graph editor.
