Playback Cache losing blue line when changing current frame

Hi everyone, first time posting on the forum!

So I have a question for you all. My playback cache is setup and working pretty good I would say. Now question about it. everytime I'm changing the current frame in the timeline window the blue line disappear and the whole time range is being recalculated. Is there a reason why? It seems my teacher has it being calculated and stays there but he doesn't know what setting can cause that. I'm on a i9 and gpu is RTX 3070. Drivers are up to date, I'm using Maya 2020

Hello,

That does not sound correct.  What does your scene contain?

It contains 2 rigs (Apollo and Artemis) a piano model I took online for free. The scene kept crashing while saving on top of that. I did export the full scene as Maya ascii and it seems to have fix all the issues. Fingers crossed.

Check your Cache playback settings.  You can set it to

  • forward and backward
  • forward
  • backward
  • forward from animation start

Most likely you have it set on the last one (fwd from animation start)

Your teacher should probably be aware of the cache playback preferences. So I'm assuming he already told you this. But maybe not.

It is set to Forward and backward but thanks anyway. I'll have to do further research to find where the issue is coming from.
