Hello,

Hope to not disappoint you 🙂 but the graph editor plays a fundamental role in 3D animation.
You should always check it when there is an interpolation problem because is the number one tool to fix animation problems. 🙂
BTW if you want your curves to slow down to the next frame value, the tangents should be set to flat at that final frame, and not to spline.
Cheers,

D

Hey thanks for the reply.. So there is no way to auto set the interpolation, every time I have this problem I have to use the graph editor to fix? Its becoming a real issue with this scene multiple times for different characters the interpolation is just weird. I've never had this problem before...

Also I don't think I want flat, I just want the regular ole ease in and ease out, I thought that was spline..

The problem is that I should actually see the scene in order to understand better...
It always depends on what you want for your animation.
usually, you get smooth curves with spline, But you might get unwanted interpolations,

AutoTangent usually helps much more, since it smoothly interpolates the keyframes without creating unwanted slopes or picks...

I still don't get it. This weird interpolation that I demonstrated in the video is not want I want. i just want that smooth in and out that causes usually with default. normally I have autodesk prefrences for tangents set to auto, but since it was causing this problem I set it to spline. But even in spline its not giving me the correct interpolation unless I edit it using graph editor. I don't understand why?

I'm thought I was nearly certain that the interpolation I'm getting(demonstrated in the video) isn't normal default behavior nor is it spline. I'll try setting default to flat.
