HELP: graph part of graph editor is gone

So I used Maya today to work on an animation project and when I went to open the graph editor, the actual graph part was gone. All that was there was an extended part of the side bar with the different axises. My first thought was that the graph must of got shrunk and pushed off the side of the screen, but when I took my mouse and tried to drag it back over onto the screen, there was nothing to drag over. I tried restarting both my computer and Maya but that didn’t seem to work. I also opened my computers power menu and made sure the displays driver was up to date. I’ve had small issues with Maya’s pop up editors like the attribute and channel editor refusing to go to their default positions in the view port, but nothing like this before. I’m hoping someone on here can help me before my project is due.

Please confirm what version of Maya you are using.  We do have a defect logged for this, but it was fixed a while ago.  Is the Graph Editor docked?  Workaround for the issue we have on record is:

If docked with another tab docked widget, it will display correctly. For instance, create a node editor, dock it, then create and dock the graph editor to the same location. Graph editor displays correctly. Close other docked widget, and Graph editor is still correct.

Let me know if this resolves the issue.
