REVIT LIGHTING ANALYSIS PLUGIN LEED v4 EQ1c7 opt 1 (sDA & ASE)

Hi! Greetings

In a post made by Stephanie Egger she mentions the posibility to simulate daylight for LEED v4 EQ1c7 opt 1 (sDA & ASE). The thing is that I'm unabled to do so, I don't know why. Can someone help me?

I attached here below a screenshot of the window with all Analysis Types avaiable for me, but no LEED v4 E1c7 opt 1, just Daylight Autonomy (sDA Preview). I already download the latest Insight 360 Plugin for Revit 2017, but still can't simulate for LEED v4 EQc7 opt 1

In hope for any help,

My best regards!

Hi @Anonymous-

That is certainly odd! Could you try manually uninstalling the plugin (from the Control Panel > Uninstall a program). If you have multiple versions of the Insight plugin, just uninstall them all. After uninstalling, try downloading the latest version again (https://insight.autodesk.com/oneenergy/Landing/Download).

Let's see if a fresh install will get you all the analysis types.

Hi @stephanie.egger

Thanks for your quick response. I just tried the steps as you mentioned: uninstalling manually Insight from Control Panel. After uninstalling the only version of Insight I had, I downloaded Insight for Revit 2017 from the link you attached.

Sadly, afert installing again the plugin, Insight just shows me Daylight Autonomy (sDA Preview). I don't know why all analysis types wont appear. Maybe it's the Revit 2017 the problem, not the plugin.

Maybe you could help me solve this

I would be very thankful with you

Hi @Anonymous

Is it possible you are using an educational license? The LEED v4 EQ1c7 opt 1 (sDA & ASE) analysis type is not available with an educational license, however the sDA preview analysis type will get you very similar results. It is just a simplified calculation that produces results faster, but is still accurate.

Hi there!

I have the same situation with my model. I am using Revit 2016. I already re-installed insight and the option for LEED v4 c7 opt 1 won't appear. I am using a professional license not educational.

Hi @Anonymous

LEED v4 c7 opt 1 is not available in Revit 2016. You need to upgrade to Revit 2017 or newer to access the new Lighting Analysis features.

Refer to this blog post for more information: LEED sDA & ASE studies with Insight Revit 2017 plugin

Thank you for the clarification. The project I am working with has been developed in 2016. If I open it in a 2017 version all the settings that I already create for the materials would remain?
Also, I already ran the model w/ the LEED v4 EQ c7 opt2. Is this result reliable?

Hi @Anonymous,

I'm not a Revit expert, but I believe all of your materials will remain as specified when you upgrade your model. Just to be safe I would save a backup copy of the 2016 version.

And yes, the LEED v4 EQ c7 opt2 analysis you already performed are still correct.

Hi @mstein7484 thanks for your help. My model indeed worked in Rvt 2017 for the LEED v4 opt 1.

However, I would like to ask you one more question regarding my 2016 model for LEED v4 opt2. My 'room 124' it is not being analyzed by the plug-in. I already checked its room properties and materials and it looks like all the other rooms in the model. When I go to the schedule it does not show any information about that room.

See attached photo:

Any thoughts?

Hi @Anonymous

There could be any number of things causing the results to be missing for the room. Refer to the first posting in this forum, which has documentation for LAR (Lighting Analysis for Revit) and make sure you are following all of the steps to prepare your model properly.
