thread with VB-Code

Hello IV - VB Cracks

I made a Programm to generate some parts from an excel sheet. All Parts have
the same form, but not the same size (Like familyparts). We use Modells to
all Parts for import in our PDM System (SAP PLM). All Dimensions we need to
change are defined as user Parameters. We change thsi Parameters with a VB
programm to generate all Parts from a family. Works great.

One Problem;
How to manipulate the size of a thread with VB? Is it possible to define the
thread size with a user defined paramter?

Thanks for help

Hi Bruno,

Actually you can change the area on which the thread is applied through parameter i.e offset from the starting edge and the thread length but you cannot change the thread type, pitch dia and tpi value. In order to do that you are require to edit the thread feature in your existing part and change its properties through API. All you need to store your data of thread inside Excel sheet or some where elae instead of storing them with the part as parameter.

Hi all,

Is this is still a limitation of Inventor? Please let me know.
