Problems with Content Center

Hello,

Just a short question her i the forum. 😉 My first time to aks other users.

I know how i create a new Content center familie but i have a problem with the right linking to our part list.

By side of Inventor we use Meridian 2018 from Blue Cielo as Vault.

Our name structure for parts and Assemblies is a link to the filefolder incl. project folder, incl. I - for Inventor and 4 digits.  For example: Cover-SIVIL-I-0001. The same is used as drawing number. 

We have also different Custom Properties like Drawing Number, artno1 to 5 and descr. 1 to 5.

That means ipt name is identical with part number and drawing number.

Now to my question:

If i create a new content center part, how i can change the format column in the part list the Part number so that here is not the drawing number is not shown?

I have tried to change the this column but the problem is, i need to show the drawing number from no content center parts, and we will not have an additional column fro this drawing number.

I hope my question can be understand. 🙂

Hi,
All these changed modifications should be made in the Content Center Family and Family table.
afterwards you need to do a refresh for the already existing files, because they need to have an update to the newly created definitions.

thanks for your answer, but i tried this, but no good results.

Meridian is so strong and all my properties will be over written.

Also Meridian release all CC-Part by the first creation.

and thanks for your answer, but all this tricks i have tried.

As you can see bellow i have made many kinds of different Content Center families.

for each of them i have made the manipulation in the familie table like this:

add. description, add. ART NO. means our article number from AX

This two columns are mapped to following Inventor properties:

And ART NO is mapped to custom.artno1, but this work not correct. sometimes it is in the properties sometimes not.

And if i insert a Content center part to Inventor then the iProp. will be like this: but custom.artno1 shall be filled with 6 digits.

But in our Vault which is Meridian are this three properties the same:

Part Name=Part number=Custom Drawing no. 

For example this part bellow:

The name is GNSS-MIL-I-0005.ipt, partnumber and Drawing number is the same. just the description is different.

And Meridian is the giver for all this properties.

I have not idea why that is as it is.

Maybe do you have any idea what i can do?

Do the following because it seems that your files are already in vault:

• create new assembly file
• put all your bolts with the wrong descriptions in it, from your Content Center folder.
• try to refresh the files with the option refresh Content Center Files.
  
• The files are now updated with the new settings defined in your table.

Remarks:

You need to have write permissions to the files so take this into consideration!

thanks for your replay, but i think this is not the problem to have the write permission.

I'm the admin of this system 🙂 excepted Meridian

My problem is that we have on three properties the same descriptions.

Show on my last messages, the last three pictures.

Also is missing the artno1 in this CC -parts, but i have this column in the familie table.

This is mapped to custom.artno1. but does not work correct. sometimes yes sometimes no.

And so long i work outside of our project file (default) then all Properties works correct.

Then i have only artno1 under Customer Properties.

but if i change the project file to our project (ComrodProject-2018) then i must choose a file type:

because Meridian waiting to this.

After this the iProperties under Custom are completely different, because all this properties comes from Meridian.

I have tried also to tell the Meridian admin, that we don't need this file type but he say yes we need this.

I don't understand why.

that is exactly what I try to update with the method formulated.
the files you are getting from the table are not really from the table but from an existing file in vault.
you always need to update them with the method described.
the files need to be overwritten with your new settings........

Sorry, but no it is not.

All CC-parts has get a new familie description like DIN 7991 A4 etc. and this was not in the Vault before.

Ergo no update will help here.

But if i dont choose a file type also with the right Project file, then all properties are correct.

no Drawing No. etc just artno1 which i need for the part list.

this means all customer properties will by over written from Meridian if i choose the file type.

Are the files in your "Content Center Files Folder" also updated.

(ie "C:\VaultWorkspace\Content Center Files\DIN 7991 A4")

Try to delete these files in the "Content Center Files Folder" and create them new.

Hi,

yes all files are up to date.

So i think i will try to use the no choose version of this parts, but i think if i  upload them to Meridian that all properties will be overwritten.

So we will se.
