Modify or Disable New Window Arrange Options

Buckle up this is going to be a bit of a long one. Unfortunately the new multi-monitor functionality

(Using 2020) brought along one of those "Thanks. I hate it" moments for me. Its not so much being able to drag one window outside of inventor (that works great-ish) but the changes that came to the way windows arrange and group within the main Inventor window.

Before I beg for a solution let me highlight exactly what it is that I consider "Broken"

- When using arrange the windows no longer sort in the order of most recently used to least recently used. This is a big deal for me because it breaks a workflow I have been using for years to quickly jump between files when working on large projects. It also was a good way to start closing out files you haven't  touched in a while.

- When closing out files in the arrange view the windows will auto re-size. Not as annoying as sort but when I have a bunch of files open that I am just trying to dump some of quickly waiting for them to auto sort again before closing gets a bit tedious.

- Broken iLogic code for doing a left right justification of 2 windows. This is a big one as a lot of the time I am presenting in a Teams call and can only share the one monitor. When running the code now it will send one window to half the inventor window area but when I go to do the second window the first one is automatically re-sized to full width again.

So now I'm left wondering if there are any settings anyone has discovered tucked away in some back corner to modify or disable some of this new arrange behavior. I haven't found any yet and most of the discussion around multi-monitor is asking for the browser pane in detached windows.

Could you make a screen shot of what you exact mean with this to understand and support you better.

Have this been changed since the 2022 release of Inventor?

I second that. I frequently jump around from arranging all to a maximized window. When I open a new file, or are working on a assembly, the tab position keeps changing on me. Its like someone dragged the window into the first slot, when it was in the last. I don't like Inventor "thinking" that I want my tabs rearranged. Is there a way to turn this off? I know its minor, but it can be annoying.

I third that! This new "feature" of automatically rearranging tabs and windows all the time is a HUGE deal IMO, because it's a constant disruption to productivity every few minutes, if I'm working on multiple files and going back and forth between them (which I usually am). It's like the stupid habit Inventor has had (at least in the past, don't think I've seen it in this version), where a part in an assembly can easily get automatically thrown out to infinity somewhere, so you have to zoom all the way out and go hunt for it with a microscope. Except this BUG (IMO) happens CONSTANTLY! IF (& forgive me if NOT), if there are no settings to control or turn this nonsense off (and there don't appear to be), then whoever programmed this bug in as standard behavior was either on drugs or attempting sabotage. It badly needs to be changed.

Someone really needs to address this. If I open it first, it should stay in the first tab slot. Likewise If I open it last, it should remain in the last tab opened.

Just fix it. Or at least provide an option to disable. (simple checkbox)

Please.

Now that we switched to 2024 and have been using it, I too have noticed this difference and agree. It is a massive disruption to my productivity. I've also noticed that cycling from a factory layout (from the FDU add-on) cause my inventor / screen to "flicker" which I'm wondering is tied to this new "auto-arrange" feature.
