getting derived assemblies from master ipart to function in the background

Hello all,

    I am basically looking for help to create a rule that, when we are in a derived assembly from a master ipart, it loads the ipart in the background, but also brings the ilogic form for that part to the foreground so we can modify the dimensions. When we click ok, it saves the ipart and refreshes your assembly. Can someone please help me with this?

What do you mean
Derived assembly. Or derived part. Or derived opart?

hi we are basically looking for a working option wherein when we derive parts, all parts are opened but in the background and while we are still working on the mother file the illogic forms of those parts which are opened in the background show up in the foreground to allow us to make changes in the parts. So basically it need to be just the iLogic form that opens in a window above the mother file but the ipt will only be in the background below the mother file. I am not sure if I am clear yet but hope you can understand what am I trying to say...thanks...hoping for a solution

by only editing the dimensions on the ilogic... I may sound vague but this is what has been asked off me.

so you mean actually the following:

you have a "part X."

You have a "part Y" which derives "part X"

you have "part Y" open in foreground.

you need to edit "part X" in background with I-logic.

I assume you need to modify the parameters?

Hi ... its like I have a part A made as a multi body ipt. I then make components and generate parts B, C, D and E which have their own iLogics. With Part A still in my foreground I want the other generated parts to open in the background but their iLogic forms automatically popping up in the foreground along with part A so I can modify the forms and see the changed in the part A simultaneously. I am not sure if I still make sense but hope I have conveyed what I am looking for. Please let me know if not. thanks
