Welding Cost estimation

Maybe someone here can help us.

We mainly assemble piping. Stainles Steel (welding) and plastics PVC (glueing) and HDPE (welding) which have different fabrication costs. We don't use the pipe and routing system.

Our company wants a list of the weldings and their diameters to have an idea about the fabrication cost.

If we base the calculation on 1 welding per item (1 welding on each pipe, 1 welding on each bend, 1 welding on each Tee, 1 welding on each flange, etc) I thought we could make this happen with an extra custom iproperty column in our partlist.

We merge all pipes, bends, flanges, etc. of the same type in 1 line in our partlist. Pipeslengths are total lengths.

Would it be possible to have an expression in a custom iProperty to have displayed:

<Quantity of the pipes>+"welds"+<custom property Size>

I am almost there but cannot find how to display the quantity.

=<BaseQuantity> weld(s) <PTN_SIZE>

=<QTY> weld(s) <PTN_SIZE>

=<Item QTY> weld(s) <PTN_SIZE>

=<BaseQuantity> weld(s) <PTN_SIZE>

=<???> weld(s) <PTN_SIZE>

I do have set the the base quantity set to the length instead of "each" because I also want the total length of the pipe. (see piture3)

Hi,

You must first count the items in the sub assembly and add this counter as I-property to the assembly.

you could do this manually or with coding.
