Tweak Weight Calculation

Hello friends,

i have a question:

I have a part (see attached file) which is construed from two extrusions.

I have to set those extrusions to separate volume bodies, but i would like to calculate the weight of the part (which Inventor creates in the iproperties --> physical properties), as if those seperate volume bodies were not separate, but instead merged together.

TobFischer94_0-1636646237832.png

For example:

The volume body created by Extrusion1 weighs 1,3 kg

The volume body created by Extrusion2 weighs 4,3 kg

Now, if i look at the physical iproperties for the multi-body part, i see a weight of about 5,6 kilograms.

But this is (in my case) false, since the intersecting volumes are calculated twice.

Instead of this weight, i would like to see (or calculate, if needed, with iLogic), a weight of 4,9 kilograms, which you get when you merge these two volume bodies.

Help would be very appreciated

Many thanks

Hello

Why not use combine command?

- select body1 as base body

- select body 2 as tool body

- select cut option

- activate "keep tool body" option

- make body 2 visible again after command finished

No tewak, just standard functionality.
