tangent constraint not working in dynamic simulation

hello,

my inventor professional 2017 on a 64 bit OS

tangent constraint is not working when i get to dynamic simulation,

when i'm in assembly it is working fine but when i switch to dynamic simulation it just disappears as if it was not included at the first place.

i tried to insert joint when in dynamic simulation (rolling cylinder curve) but when i click apply the program just freezes, stop responding and crashes.

to be specific i have a grounded cam and i want a mobile cylinder (or sphere)  to roll all around this cam.

Hi. I have bumped this because I am having a similar difficulty. How did you resolve the issue?

The die block (highlighted) runs in a curved slot (not shown) and is constrained in the slot by mate on it's outside, plane, face and by tangent on it's convex face. When in DS, the tangent restraint is not included as a standard joint and so the mechanism comes apart when the sim is run. NB I am self learning this and do not have a book! But I am only playing as an amateur.

A little more digging suggests that I need to manually insert a 3D contact joint. I'll try that.

That 'might' be working but it slows the motion down so much that I can't wait long enough to find out!
