SQL to Inventor

Hi all,
I know very little about the technical details of programming, so this
is just a general question of feasiblity..

I would like to eliminate the task of inputting information twice, once into
Inventor and then again into our enterprise wide PDM system. I am told
that it is a rather difficult task to feed the info from Inventor into our
SQL based system, So what I am wondering about is going the other
direction and feeding the info into Inventor instead.
Any Ideas??
Thanks, D

You could if you knew the structure of the database. It is very possible to
query a SQL database if you know SQL. It would then be possible to enter the
data into the Properties of the Inventor File.

However, you may want to check to see if your PDM System has an API. If it
does it should have a built in method for getting data.

I would more than happy to work with you on this. Just send me an email.
