HI.

Have a lot of ilogic parts /assemblies i want to create and use in different assemblies through out our projects.

All this is working fine but when i use "place iLogic component" the new file get saved in the same folder as the assembly i placed it in.

I want to hopfully change that so the new part get saved in the same folder as the master ilogic part.

In the same way an iPart get saved.

Can anyone help with iLogic rule to save the file in correct location ?

Thanks

@oleN2RXT,

Hoping that below idea may be helpful in your case.

Organize your iLogic component files so that the standard models are outside of the folder of the assembly to be placed as an iLogic component. You can store them in a Content Center folder or another Library folder. When you place the assembly as an iLogic component, these files are not copied to the folder of the main assembly. The iLogic component in the assembly maintains its links to the original files, in their original locations.

Thanks and regards,

@leonque,

Try to save the part as different name and replace the same with old part.

Thanks Chandra for your reply.

I finally discoverd that the problem was on the Browser names.

What happens with place ilogic component is that the name on the browser is always the same even thought you replace the part. Since I did not realize it, I thought that the part was not replaced, but in fact, behin the same browser name, there was a new file name.

This situation is quite counter intuitive, when you york with regular assemblies, and need some background knowledge.

Other curious aspect is that the Copy Tab in the iproperties window of the part, appears only when you access it from the assembly environtment. I undestand now that this is so, because the fuction of this name is the control of the master occurrence in the assembly, and that is the base for the ilogic rules keep working, when you rename a file.

Thank you very much for your time and contribution.
