iProperty "Part Number" custom ContentCenter File

Hi,

i would like to generate a custom ContentCenter File, like I-Beams, with an own Filename.

How can i configure the library to set "Part Number" equal to "Filename"?

Here I found a manual: https://blog.cadpro.co.nz/manufacturing/inventor-ilogic-and-content-center-they/

But this will not work with Autodesk Vault. I can't check in the file, because of the ilogic rule.

best regards

Tobias

In the Content Center family table for your custom part, right click on the Part Number column header and choose Column Properties.  In this dialog box, select Expression and Expression Column, and type {FILENAME} in the expression field, then OK.  This sets the entire column equal to the File Name column.

Hope that helps,

I'm afraid that won't work. The value {FILENAME} takes the value from the column "Filename". If you assign your own file name when saving, the iProperty Part Number still contains the old value.

Is there really no way to program the ContentCenter in such a way that user-defined parts whose filename is not set until the file is saved, set the Part Number = Filename?

Sorry, I misunderstood what you wanted.

Is it possible for a content center family to have the Part Number property undefined and unmapped?  I don't have time now to try it, but if this is possible, then I suppose that, like any other Inventor file, the Part Number defaults to the file name.
