iPart Dimension into iAssembly Table

Hello,

I would like to get an iPart dimension (diameter) into my iAssembly table (even as a Reference or User Parameter are fine). Once I accomplish this I will be able to put the iAssembly on a drawing and make the "Diameter" Column update when I change the diameter in the original iPart.

The issue I've run into is whatever assembly is showing on my screen is saved as the permanent "Diameter" dimension, even when I switch to an assembly with a part of a different diamter.

In some situations there is no Helix 2 (look at DWG for details) and I would like the DIA to be shown as '--' (I imagine I can use iLogic ie: If Helix DIA > 20 then '--'.  The request is that the Table updated automatically, when the either Disk DIA is changed, not manually typed in.

Thank you much for any help, guidance, or heading.

Hello,

I would like to get an iPart dimension (Length) into my iAssembly table (as a Reference or User Parameter are fine). Once I accomplish this I will be able to put the iAssembly on a drawing and make the "Length" Column update when I change the length in the original iPart.

The issue I've run into is whatever assembly is showing on my screen is saved as the permanent "Length" dimension, even is I switch to an assembly with a part of a different length.

Thanks for your help.

Hi! I believe this can be done via an iLogic rule at the assembly level. To allow forum experts to comment further, please attach your attempt here. iLogic experts should be able to help come up with a good solution.

Many thanks!

Disks of varying sizes and quantities need to be attached to the shaft. Let me know if anything else can be provided.

I spoke wrongly, rather than length, I need the Diameter of the disks

Hi! You only posted the iam file. Please post all the iam and ipt files (including iPart member files under the folder with the name of the iPart factory).

Many thanks!

I just made a new, more detailed thread. I've never use Inventor Forum and wasn't sure how it worked. Thanks for your help.
