Hello!

I have BOM from assembly,

Order in left ipart list and order in bom specification (as shown in picture) are not similar, equal.

Are there ilogic codes or another method to sort quantity column order as in parts list.

How can I order quantity columns in BOM of assembly without drag and drop.(If I have iparts with 100 quantity columns. it will be difficult to sort them by order.)

Thank You!bom_order.png

Hi Azizxon, I am not fully understanding what you are trying to order here and by what.

If you want your iAssembly to have a specific member order, a quicker way to do this is by using the excel editor from the iAssembly editor. You can use the sort function in there and when you save and return, Inventor will update.

If you want a specific order in your BOM based on your iAssembly, you could try adding a custom column with numbers in, in your iAssembly table and then use this to sort in the BOM.

Hi! I see the behavior. I think you are talking about the iAssembly member list in the browser vs the one on the BOM table. The one on the BOM table is sorted alphabetically (or numerically). The one in the iAssembly browser is actually from the author table.

To make them in sync. Go to iAssembly factory -> edit the table in Excel -> Sort the Member column.

Many thanks!

Hello!

Thanks for answering. But

Going to "iAssembly factory -> edit the table in Excel -> Sort the Member column" changes ipart list in browser, not the Bom table.

In the contrary, I want to change Bom table quantity columns order to the browser IPArt list order.

Waiting for your answer!)

Hi, sorry if I misunderstand here, there seems to be a few different questions.

Order in left ipart list and order in bom specification (as shown in picture) are not similar, equal.

Regarding the image you posted, the drop down in the BOM will always be a-z/1-10 and will not match your browser order.

another method to sort quantity column order as in parts list.

You want to sort by quantity in the BOM, is that right?

Click this icon (ignore the 300, that is my iAssembly config):

This all seems too simple, so do you actually mean you want these columns sorting left to right alphanumerically?

As far as I know there is no way to do this. If you use these same columns a lot though, you can export a BOM configuration and import it to another assembly at the bottom of the BOM window.

Hi! As James indicated, I am not aware of a way to sort BOM table based on iAssembly member list.

Many thanks!

I'm not an iLogic specialist, but there was a similar question on adding columns to the BOM through iLogic and the answer was no, so I suspect there is no iLogic control of columns.
