iMate - change dimension

Hi,

for a long time I have been trying to find a solution to a problem very specific to my job. I partially solved it by linking the assembly parameters.
What's the problem?
How to make an assembly, that some of its parts change dimension with iMate? An example of this is the drawer, I want it to change the width with iMate.

Is it even possible to do that?

So you have an assembly and want to drive part dimension by the Contstrains? if you make your parts adaptive, it could work (although adaptivity needs a lot of caution...)

Post a sample assy, plz.

And you want to change by code, or simple param-Change?

see how I solved the drawer problem myself. I created one detail that only contains a sketch with dimensional parameters. It does not participate in the assembly, but its other parameters and assembly parameters are linked.

Hi,

I am now solving this problem in a very similar way, but I would like to know if it is possible to change the dimension with iMate and how to do it

@kresh.bell

if I'm not mistaken, do you use WoodWork? Everything is already there, you just need to work right. In my example, the usual INVENTOR program is done.

this is just an example, I know about all the possibilities of woodwork, I'm generally interested in whether I can change the dimension with iMate and how to do it

This uncle is the author of "Woodwork - from Inventor".

Ask her when working with his program link

I'm not sure, what you mean here.... Dimensions are changed by parameters.. does the Addin change the iMate-Parameters?

Do you want to pass parameters from parent-assembly (cabinet depth) to the inserted component?

I guess a colleague wants to put the drawer in a box. When you add your iMate, the drawer counter automatically adjusts to the box on which it is placed. Changing the dimensions of the box will change the size of the drawer as well

I showed you how to do this using the usual Inventor options by linking parameters. But he wants to be smarter 😉

The new WoodWorc has that option
