Hi,

I want to create a assembly and i want to replace the parts/subassembly based on input (using forms or user parameters) without disturb of constraints/joints. Is it possible?

It's possible, but it's not always easy. It really depends on your situation.

Some general things to consider:

  • Is it only necessary to replace components with existing components or does it also need to be able to create new components?
  • Will you place all possible components and just hide or supress them or will you actually place and delete components as needed?
  • Are your components, constraints and joints made in a way that components can actually be replaced without messing up your constraints and joints?
  • ...

You can create a rule that will add appropriate relationships between the faces specified in the rule.

If you could share some information about what you're trying to do specifically maybe someone here can get you started. Without that we're really just randomly sharing code in the hopes that it does what you want to do.

I can't share the documents here, because of office terms, So in that case I have provide the following information's,

1. Master assembly - Parameters,

     a) Parameter Name = Shovel: Equation = 750x150x250, 1000x200x250, 1250x250x250......(Item-1-sub-assembly)

     b) Parameter Name = pitch: Equation = 250, 315, 400, 500 (Item-2-sub-assembly)

     a) Parameter Name = chain force: Equation = 250x250, 250x400, 315x400, 315x600, 315x800...... (Item-3-sub-assembly)

and one part file for chain pattern (part pattern feature used in assembly pattern) named Shovel_Chian pattern_Skeleton - Its is a base component for assembly

It's like Chain assembly, if the parameter changes the related sub-assembly need to be replaced

But you can prepare a new set of files that reflects the behavior of your target design and yet does not violate actual confidentiality, while saving other specialists time pondering and generating random answers.
