Ilogic - Configure speed - Supress vs. replace

What is the best practice for making ilogic fast changing multi-configurable models?

Our current main assemblies consist of many supressed subassemblies. Depending on which cofigure, subassemblies are supressed/unsupressed. Initial opening is incredibly slow and also changing configuration.

Is Ilogic replace component a faster solution? (Main assembly full of empty parts in initial opening, then being replaced with subassemblies depending on chosen options)

Or do you guys use a 3rd solution capable with vault?

Looking foreward for your answeers.

I dont know about best practice but here are some toughts.

I found the replace function not always relible espacialy when models change a lot. Therefor if i need to replace a part i try to use delete and place with iMates (or a regular place but then you will need to find a other way to position your part/sub-assembly.)

If you make a copy design from your base assembly when you are going to use it then you could also delete the parts that you dont need. To make the assembly lighter/faster.

I have none experience with large assemblies but you could try to open it in express mode. Load Express provides significantly faster (3-5x) file open times for large assemblies. (if you open the assmbly by code have a look here )
