Convert model to step by apprentice server

Hi everyone,

I need to create a configurator for a client. For the client is not important to have Inventor or other software. To be "cheap" I want use apprentice server or other (if you know) .net tool to create parts and assemblies, applies colors and at the end export the model as STEP.

I read the documentation and apprentice doesn't allow to export as STP so my client need to buy Inventor.

Do you know a way to create an automation like this?

I prefer Inventor because I can crete parametric parts and assembly. I created some automation like this to create belt conveyor and using Inventor is simple.

Simply, use a Task Scheduler -> export.

but task scheduler needs to have Inventor so my client must buy a licence of Inventor, right?

If I have Inventor is not a problem to do all, I am interested to find a solution cheaper for my client. I revealed in advance to my client that he must buy a licence but if I find another solution is good.
