Change Content Center Type

We have had several issues with users copying "standard" content center files to a custom location instead of placing as custom. The file is then customized with features.

The problem being, the file is recognized as a "Standard" content center file from that point on. This causes a multitude of issues for us.

It is not possible to replace from the Content Center and simply change to "Custom" without loosing all the features.

I have found code that checks for the "Content Center Type" and some can strip the information to convert to a normal part. I'd like to maintain the association to the content center for size change purposes.

Is it possible to change the "Content Center Type", from "Standard" to "Custom"?

You can change the property Content Center to false. Then it is seen as a custom CC part.

Now to figure it out. Looked at it a little but no progress yet.

No. It isn't pressing by any means.

The situation has popped up several times. Fortunately the changes to the parts were minor, so we were able to redo the parts.

This latest one was a little more complicated. It got me to thinking of implementing a solution should it happen again.

Would it be a good idea to put all the related Content Center files in one assembly and run a piece of code to change the Property to false?
