Break the link between the "placed" part and the one in the library

Hi,

I am setting up a library for my company with different types of panels. These panels will be placed from Vault by the end user to their models and need to be modified, e.g. for cut-outs, etc. Is there a way to break the link between the "placed" part and the one in the library, except saving the part as a different one and replacing the former with the latter?

Any idea is appreciated.

a) Look into Custom content center content instead of Standard content center content. (ie; place as custom).

b) Look into "Save & Replace Component" command functionality.

Both methods offer a way to do what you ask depending on whether you are using parts or assemblies.
