Appearance Issue while updating from API

Hi Good Day 🙂

From my External App I'm Updating all the Parts, Sub-Assemblies & Assemblies.

While Updating the Parts the Appearance are not the same as it has to be, it's always Black in color for all the parts.

But while updating Sub-Assemblies & Assemblies they are as per the Appearance of the Material.

Pic 1 is how it was looking while Updating by External App but the actual Appearance has to look like Pic 2.

Even after completion of Updating all the Parts, Sub-Assemblies & Assemblies when i open manually it looks like Pic 1.

I have to Close the Inventor Application and Re-Open it again to have the Correct Appearance.

Hello,

Can you please attach one sample part or assembly file so that we can look into? Thank you.

Totally understand. In this case can you please confirm these questions? Thank you.

  1. Is it native Inventor files or imported from foreign CAD file formats?
  2. If it is native .ipt and .iam files were they migrated to Inventor 2017 or not?
  3. Is the problem still there if you save those files on Inventor 2017 and reopen, without going through the external app update process?
  4. Can you take a look if you can create samples files to reproduce the same issue so that you can share?

    • Yes it was.
  2. If it is native .ipt and .iam files were they migrated to Inventor 2017 or not?
    • Files were created in AI 2017
  3. Is the problem still there if you save those files on Inventor 2017 and reopen, without going through the external app update process?
    • Problem was not there when I'm opening it in a New Autodesk Inventor Window
    • Problem was there only when it was Updating From External App & Re-Opening in the Same Autodesk Inventor Window which was controlled by External App.
  4. Can you take a look if you can create samples files to reproduce the same issue so that you can share?
    • I'll look in to this and come back

Thank you for looking in to the issue 🙂
