hi all,

i want to have a general table with text in the cells that link to parameters i make in the drawing itself.

to fill with misc information. i dont need this info linked to the part at all.

i will make a 'form' to fill out the parameters when i do a drawing.

is this possible?

Hi @raja.dahya.  I do believe it is possible to fill the table's cells with 'static' values based on drawing parameter values, but I highly doubt they could be filled with values that are actually 'linked' to the parameters, like you might expect in a regular drawing note.  I have not tested this theory yet though because it would be pretty challenging to prep all that XML code for the values (Link1).  I know that when you try to manually edit the contents of a custom table's cell, it won't show that nice big 'Format Text' dialog box...it's just expecting a very simple entry.

I just thought of another scenario though.  Since a custom table can be linked to an Excel file, what about creating those parameters within an Excel file, then linking that Excel file to the drawing through its Parameters dialog box, then also linking it to your custom table.  If done that way though, I believe that those parameter values could only be changed from the Excel file.
