how to add initial strain

In Inventor nastran 2020, I want to analyze pre-strained (initial strain) polystyrene panel bending with heating.

I found that I have to input initial strain to bulk data(PSTRAIN or INITSTRAIN ?) , but I dont know how to input it.

Please give me the answer.

OS: Windows10

Use software: Autodesk Inventor professional 2020.

Hi! Inventor FEA can only do static analysis on isotropic material. It cannot handle heat stress and non-linear deformation. I believe you need to use Inventor NASTRAN instead.

Hi @tykryu 

It is possible to add initial strain to a Nastran analysis. But it will need to be manually added to the deck file.

INITSTRAIN needs to be added to the case control to identify/call the card STRAIN.
