Exclude part from Analysis

I have several parts I want to exclude from my analysis.  Mainly nuts, bolts and washers.  In my Inventor assembly, I have a view rep created that excludes these items.  Now I launch Nastran and all the excluded items are shown in the browser.  I can right-click on each item individually and select "exclude from analysis", but this will take forever. 

Is there a way to either apply my view rep or multi-select the items I want to exclude?

I am using Nastran In-CAD Version 2018.1.0.301.

I was going to add the "Exclude from Analysis" to my right-click menu, but noticed that it is not available in the list.  Maybe I am overlooking something obvious.

Hi Kirk,

Assuming that version 2018.1 has the capability, the Level of Detail selection in In-CAD is chosen by editing the analysis ("Analysis > Edit") and setting the level of detail from the "Model State" tab.

Must not be available in 2018 version.  I don't even see a model tab under Analysis > Settings.

I do see it in Inv 2020 however. 😞  They also add the ability to multi select browser items with Shift+select.

However, there is still no "Exclude from Analysis" available for the Right-click customization.  There is a "Exclude from Study" but that is not the correct command for the Nastran IN-CAD.

I also went back to Inv 2018, and now I see the model tab under Analysis>Edit and I can select the View Rep.  It is still difficult in 2018 to exclude multiple items from the analysis.

I am glad the view representation is showing in 2018. My guess is that there was something different about the model that prevented it from showing.

The browser selection in 2018 was fixed in version 2018.2.1.428. This will allow multiple select and should have the Exclude from Analysis functionality when you right-click in the browser. (I tested the right-click in 2020, not in 2018.) However, this still requires you to select all of the parts from the browser.
