Enforce Quad Elements on Shell Mesh

Is it possible to restrict shell mesh command to only generate Quad Elements.
I have attached (2) images, One of the CAD Model Mid Surfaced Shell and Second is of how the mesh looks at the corner fillets. I would like to get rid of those tri elements, as it is showing stress concentration in my analysis which shouldn't be the case. Would like to either clean up the corner elements or have the shell mesh have all quad elements.

Any suggestions?

Hi @jthomas2SNH8G

It is not possible to force an all-quad mesh.

Is the stress concentration due to the triangular element, or is it due to the sharp corner that occurs in the notch? The sharp corner will always create a stress concentration (more of a mathematical singularity). Such stress concentrations just need to be ignored.

A finer mesh will also help. If the result is a singularity, it will continue to be confined to 1 element. (If the stress goes from "red" to "yellow/green" over the length of 1 element, and stays in 1 element as you refine the mesh, the high stress is a singularity.)
