Why cannot individual users define and use their own macros?

Why did Autodesk feel the need to lock individual users out of being able to create and use their own custom macros? This proves highly frustrating over time. Other CAD programs allow the individual users to create and run their own macros. Being locked down by system administrators is not always a good thing. Please fix this issue.

As I understand it, Autodesk provides iLogic for scripting and macros.

What do you want that is different than that tool?

@swaltonthe simple ability to write my own personal macros, save them, and use them as needed. Everywhere I have worked that uses Inventor, admins have that locked down tighter than Fort Knox.

I thought that the iLogic addin was installed and enabled by default.  Do you have issues running iLogic code?
