Visible to Invisible to Visible - KEEP THE SAME DESIGN VIEW

Visible to Invisible to Visible - KEEP THE SAME DESIGN VIEW

We have many assemblies that have robots and in the Master design view there are many reference things like work paths and envelopes.  When we need to have them out of the way we just quickly turn the visibility off.  When we turn visibility back on, regardless of what design view was active when we made it invisible, it pops back to Master design view.  Then we have to go back and set design view back to what it was before (if we can remember but usually Default).  Why can't Inventor just keep the same design view active that was active when we made it invisible?   There is an option when we make it invisible to Remove associativity or modify the design view rep but one is grayed out so cannot bypass removing associativity.

This is a much needed feature for large assemblies.  Chasing down the proper view rep through 10-100s of sub-assemblies is painful.

Totally agree.  Can run this in parallel with we should be able to define a design view to display when someone views an assembly in the Vault thin client rather than pounding them down with master design view for EVERYTHING.  Makes someone work for a long time to make the view legible before they can use it, close it and open it again later and run through the same exercise again..... and again.... and again.  Making display edges work would be nice, too.  🙄

I'm pretty sure this idea has been posted before.  But if it was posted a thousand times, I'd vote for every one of them I saw.  Visibility shouldn't disassociate the View Representations - it should be an independent filter applied on top of it.

Another suggestion while they're at it, make it so you can "like" replies to idea posts rather than just regular forum posts.  In other words, @jtylerbc , totally agree!  😁

Almost at the point to either throw my mouse across the room, see how much fist impact my monitors can take, or slam my forehead against my keyboard.  I am working on a robotic work cell with a 6-axis robot.  The default view rep for the robot is just the robot itself.  There is a big bubble work envelope invisible.  I have to constantly turn visibility off on the robot to work on the riser base under it.  Each time I turn visibility off on the robot, do some work and turn visibility back on, this is what I see.

Well, considering I am not zoomed out when I turn visibility on, this is really what I see.

Come on Autodesk, at the least, when we turn visibility on, if you can't return the item to the active view rep it was in before turning visibility off, put the view rep to Default, NOT MASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The engineers sitting around me are getting tired of hearing me yell "S**T!!!" every time I turn visibility on.  😠
