Use any geometry for view alignment (Align views based on edges)

If there are a few views which were created from other parts on a drawing and we try to align them then we can align them with center of view only.
We would like to align them between any geometries, for example, edge vs. edge, center line vs. center line, etc.

PM me, we ( www.quadrasol.co.uk ) have an add-in called iNudge that does just that (align by geometry, precise movement etc)

This would be great! As would be the ability to align vertically AND horizontally, not just one or the other.

In addition to aligning horz. / vert. I would like to see aligning views based on edges. You can even include offsetting a certain distance.

Although the title is a little wordy so it's not easy to find, this has already been requested here: Want to use any geometry for view alignment on a drawing file.

Hopefully Autodesk will merge the two. My two cents -- I personally think "Align views based on edges" is a lot more clear of a title.

Just adding this to the rest:

in the picture below, the base views are aligned vertically to each other. The projected views are aligned horizontally to ea. base view. My suggestion is to allow the projected views to be aligned vertically. Though I am sure that if alignment were available to align to any geometry as suggested above, this would also solve the issue.

@Luke_Y.AGII - that would be a big step in the right direction, but also would like the ability to align by point or line. Example would be isometric or perspective views that don't really line up properly when aligned either vertically or horizontally. Actually it seems like this issue is worse in Inventor 2022.

We need this. It's common practice when drafting to align geometry, not the views.

At this rate (if we all pool our resources) maybe we can get to 150 upvotes. Then, if the pattern is correct - should result in a "Screw You Losers" comment from Adesk 🤣

Meanwhile still using "Align views by edge" iLogic rule.  For goodness sake Autodesk, implement this already.
