The previously submitted idea to updated the text editor has been marked as "Implemented" even though only one tiny piece of the idea was actually implemented. Shame on you Autodesk...
In order to get these ideas back on the table (and vent my current frustrations) I'm creating a new thread. Anyone who would like to see other things, please add it to the comments of this thread and let's see if we can get Autodesk to notice.
The text editor in Inventor is still not letting us customize as much as we need... I'm ok with using the Text Editor Window as opposed to in-place editing, but really, it needs work. Here is my main concern:
- Numbering (yes, I'm using it now) is a complete nightmare in Inventor... Example: When creating notes, my company finds it more aesthetically pleasing to add a blank line in between each numbered item. This makes each item easy to distinguish individually. Right now the numbered lists in Inventor work the same as the text editor here on the ideastation website...
- Notice how there's no space between these items? Notice how this item blends in with the one above? Yea, fix it... Like it's fixed in Au**CAD (name omitted to discourage trolls).
- See what I mean? It all begins to run together and you can't really tell where one things stops and another begins. I'm actually just typing things to drive the point home by showing how if you add more text it only gets worse...
However, let's see how this looks!
1. I turned off numbering and I'm now just adding the numbers in manually. Right now, I'm trying to get to a break point so that the text moves down to... OH there it goes.
2. Now, notice how the second line of that text (hanging indent) goes back to the start of the line? That looks messy and wrong and it's going to get marked up every time by my project manager...
3. At least each item is easy to distinguish though... Manually inputting numbers is a real pain though...
Suggestions:
Give us control over hanging indents.
Give us the option to continue numbering after a break.
Also, the line breaks in the text editor do not line up with the line breaks shown graphically on the drawing screen. Not sure if that's a bug or just you just missed it.
Examples of what's going on:

Kudos please if you agree with this... I could really use the help.
Thanks!
