Make Adaptive command on a copied ROUTE removes included geometry even if it’s a local copy/paste. Preserve work features where possible especially on local copy/paste. When copying from one project to another I understand that included geometry cannot be retained but on local copies, it should be retained just as it is when copying a whole RUN.
