Torx screws in content center

Add metric and imperial Torx screws to content center please.

I might just not be looking hard enough, or it might be in 2015, but I can't find them.

This is a wish of a lot of users. I don't understand why Autodesk doesn't add Torx families to the Content Center Library.

The standard for the Torx head is ISO 10664.

Example of fasteners standards: ISO 14579, 14582, 14583

Hi, why do we do not find torx bolts in Content Center? Needs different standards, including some DIN standards.

Hi

I created a ISO standard Torx screw library by using Inventor 2015, it includes ISO 14579,14580, 14581,14583,14584,14585,14586,14587.

Please let me know if you would like to have a try.

Thanks @jingyi.liu, that's great! IF there was a way to give Kudos on here you'd get my +1 as you just saved me hours of work.

Was there a reason you skipped the 14582 standard?

Hi, @AlexFielder

I'm glad you like it. Inventor has non-ISO standard torx screws, it's not ISO Standard, but very close to it. I spent some time to convert them to ISO standard, I didn't find the library which is matching to 14582. Do you have the standard? If you have, I can check it later.

Btw, please let me know if you find any issues, like family description, properties, etc. If it works well, we may suggest to deliver them in out-of-box content library.

Cheers,

Jingyi Liu

Hi

Thanks for a copy of your torx database

I have two comments.

No.1: Why is the filename added with "Screw" in front of the content name?
It`s not that way in Content Center.

2.
Could you please add Torx as a family name or something? It would be great to be able to search torx in CC in fact that engineers often did not know standard name of torxs...

3. Would be great to have ISO 14582 included 🙂

4. Anyway, this was great 🙂

Thanks!

Hi Steinar

Thanks for your feedback, did you attach image in your post? I can't see it, could you send me email to describe it in detail? Since it's writable library, it's easy to change it in CC editor.

Regarding to ISO 14582, I have no ISO Standard on hand, it's hardly to estimate its effort, hope Inventor team have chance to deliver it in future.

 Hi Jingyi,

thank you very much for sharing your Torx Screw library. It's a great help.

I've noticed that the ISO 14581 doesn't contain any screws smaller than M6. Is there any chance somebody has already extended this family table down to M2?

An example of standard sizes can be found at https://eu.shop.bossard.com

If not I will try and add them to the family table myself.

Best regards

Christoph

Hi Christoph

Thanks for your feedback, I don't have the standard document on hand, you have to add them to the table by yourself right now. I will forward the issue to content team, to ensure future content update will include these screws smaller than M6.

 Thanks,

Jingyi
