Tolerance Analysis and Tolerance Stackups

Tolerance Analysis and Tolerance Stackups

The Inventor Tolerance calculator is too basic. It is no good for serious engineered products.  It is just a waste of desktop space.

We need GD&T Tolerance Analysis in the model. This needs to be in part and assembly files.

WHY do we need it.

Going to production all the information is there in the model no need to redo all the manual calculations for the drawings.

Save time doing GD&T Tolerance Analysis in the model. See what happens to the whole model when tolerances  change.

Save huge costs in production as tolerance stack ups are set for the production process.

Control of drawings comes from the model.

Drawings are updated as the model changes.

Saves time as Tolerance Analysis does not have to be done in other software or programs.

If you do not understand just VOTE. Once Autodesk implements this , you will love working with it.

Autodesk, please design a tolerance analysis module or buy one! 🙂

For Autodesk Inventor product managers:

Competition provides add-ons from third parties that are integrated with the software.

If developing such module is expensive, why not looking into getting one of the existing companies to write a dedicated module for Inventor?

EZtol for Autodesk Inventor was released last month. If you'd like to see it in action stop by booth E304 at the exhibit hall at AU2017. More information is also available at www.eztol.com.

Inventor Tolerance Analysis is a new 1D tool for stackup analysis based on an evolution of the Sigmetrix EZTol product mentioned above. Tolerance Analysis can leverage GD&T data from the 3D model or facilitate quick studies on new stackups from scratch, enabling you to calculate worst case scenarios as well as statistical distributions on stackups. Reports document the results of one or more stackups and the effect of dimensional tolerances to the overall fit. Tolerance Analysis is now included in the Product Design and Manufacturing Collection as well as Enterprise Token Flex agreements. For more info:

Please vote for the following idea so we aren't wasting time duplicating our work (and therefore increased errors) entering tolerances in two places (sketch and 3D annotations) just to be able to use this tool:
