Symbol input using codes like AutoCAD %%D, %%C etc

Symbol input using codes like AutoCAD %%D, %%C etc

OK so having the symbol input in Inventor is OK, but it really breaks up the flow when writing in a text note if you have to move your mouse away to input the different symbols.

It's be great if Inventor could recognise codes to create the symbols in the same way that AutoCAD does. ie. %%D makes a degree symbol. It's so much faster when typing text to add symbols in this way and it doesn't break typing flow.

You can put the symbols in by typing. The degree symbol ° is hold down the alt button and type 248. You can do it but it most likely will be different commands than autocad.

You can do that, but it's much harder to remember the number combinations. ALT+0176 also does a ° and ALT+0177 does ± however %%D etc are so much faster and easier to remember. There's also no unicode for Diameter from what I've looked at.

Useful to know however still nowhere near as easy as the AutoCAD way. The codes aren't quite as easy to remember and they don't flow as well.
