Split solid bodies using existing solid geometry face(s)

This is desperately needed, if mainly as a huge time saver. Currently, the user is required to create planes/surfaces before using the split command (time consuming exercise to say the least). Why is there not the simple ability to select existing solid geometry face(s) as the splitting tool(s)? Please add this to the Inventor capabilities soon. Thanks.

Excellent!

In part modelling, it would be nice if you could select the face of an existing solid body as the cutting tool for a Split feature.

Rather than having - for example - making an additional features such as an offset work plane or offset surface (using the Thicken/Offset tool).

Of course the face of the tool body would need to completely extend beyond the bounds of the solid to be cut for the split feature to work.

Thanks.

It would be great to have such an option!

I am definitely in favor.

Here is another thread from 2022 where very similar has already been requested. Maybe the two should be combined.

Ah ok. Yes that is basically the same request.

How does one combine ideas?
