Solid bodies controlled by Model States

Solid bodies controlled by Model States

Switching visibility or suppression of solid bodies in different model states is essential to make sure we can work with repaired geometry, copied bodies, combined bodies, and any imported dumb solid.

Oftentimes, the catalogued items from vendors will be imported as STP files and translated into only solid bodies without features to suppress or toggle visibility of. We are then forced to use only a few tools available (remove details, fill voids, or define envelopes) that can edit on top of the original content.

In order to truly be able to represent "levels of detail" of any part component, we need more tools and the ability to ignore/suppress/hide solid bodies, within the context of a single model state (not the whole "factory scope").

When I get a chance I can post here videos of how randomly Model States will reach to suppression of imported geometry/solid bodies. It becomes a game of whackamole where you can never have solids suppressed/unsuppressed correctly in the Model States you need.

I would really like ability to switch on/off solid bodies using model states.  A good example is when using the derived part tool;  I want to switch between different bodies of the derived part.  It feels like 'Model States' is lacking some expected functionality without this.
